Kimberley Expedition
- Duration: 18 Days (approx.)

Kimberley Expedition. Remote and rugged, this epic adventure could be the journey of a lifetime to Australia's last frontier. Massive waterfalls over rocky escarpments. Old 4WD tracks scrambling up Jump-Ups and pushing through spear grass plains and river beds. Boab trees glowing silver under a full moon at night. Swimming in exotic palm-fringed waterholes. Stories of pioneering drovers and native bushrangers. A trip planned with local knowledge from former resident and MTE participant John Schmidt.
Possible highlights include the amazingly friendly and rustic Hale River homestead, Policemans Waterhole (4WD, swimming), Gregory National Park/Bullita (4WD), Victoria River Downs Station, Kununurra (Five Rivers Lookout), Old Karunjie Track (prison tree), Ooomaloo Falls/New York Jump Ups (4WD, rock walls), Mitchell Falls (4WD, helicopter taxi), Windjana/Tunnel Creek (freshwater crocs, cave paintings), Bungles (4WD) and return to Alice Springs via Tanami Track (Wolfe Creek Crater).
An optional extended return journey via the Top End and Gulf: Old Halls Creek goldfields, Palm Springs, Savanna Way, Wave Hill (land rights), Katherine Gorge, Borroloola (fishing), Hells Gate, Mataranka (hot springs), Lawn Hill (oasis), Mt Isa, Broken Hill and Mungo. This trip of an extra two weeks (no extra cost) is based on Marcus' insights of the NT from his Australian Army experiences.
Required vehicle preparation will include extra fuel range. MTE club tag-alongs $2,000/vehicle plus permits and camping fees. Booking deposit $200. Balance one month before departure.
