Eringa-Simpson Outback, Sun~Fri 16/6/24~1/7/24 (school holidays)..

Possible highlights (details to be confirmed) include:  

- Camping at Farina when the famous volunteer-operated bakery is in operation.

- Placing a memorial for our friend Phillip at Eringa (Optional escorted easy access via Oodnadatta for those not participating in the 4WD trip, 16~20/6/24, no cost).

- West-east crossing of Simpson desert dunes using some lesser-known tracks. Midday sauna swim at Dalhousie Springs. 

- Stories and relics of the oil and gas exploration which opened the region.

- Exploring Walkers Crossing, Cameron Corner, Menindee Lakes and some historic (Burke & Wills) areas around Innamincka.

- Rest day (2 nights) at an outback NSW station farmstay, with optional visit to Broken Hill.

Meet at Orroroo Caravan Park on Sunday evening. Finishes at Kerang, northern Victoria (with another great bakery). Required vehicle preparation will include fuel range for about 1000km. MTE club tag-alongs $2,000/vehicle plus permits and camping fees. (SA Desert Parks Passes from last year will still be valid for this trip.) Booking deposit $200. Balance one month before departure.
